“Making
a Difference for Christ”
The purpose
of our church is summarized in a single sentence based on two
key scriptures:
The Great Commandment:
"Jesus said, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart
... soul ... and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it:
Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and
Prophets hang on these two commandments.'" Matt 22:36-40
And
The Great Commission: "Jesus
said, 'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
Matt 28:19-20
Our Core Values
" The 5 G s"
The
5 G’s are how we live out our purpose. It is our plan
for
growing towards being like Christ.
GRACE:
We understand that we are saved by Grace and are to share God’s
grace with others.
GROWTH:
Being saved by God’s grace is only the beginning of his
work in us. We want to actively pursue a life long process
of spiritual growth in Christ by seeking to become like him.
GROUPS:
As Christ followers we place a high priority on living out his
purposes in community with other believers. We meet together
for large group celebration and we meet together in small groups
where we learn together, and live out his commandment to love
one another.
GIFTS:
Spiritual gifts are divine abilities given by the Holy Spirit
to every believer. These abilities help us serve God and his Kingdom.
You have at least one spiritual gift, maybe several. Each
Christ follower should discover, develop and deploy his gift to
serve in the body of Christ.
GOOD
STEWARDSHIP Christ followers know that everything
we have belongs to him. We are to be good stewards of all
we have been given.
This
includes our time, talents, and treasures. This means to use everything
at our disposal wisely and well. Good stewards are generous, sharing
what we have as God leads—and managing well what we keep.
